Dr. Gregory Whitten — Chief Executive Officer
and
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Gregory Whitten joined the board in 1998 as a major investor. In 2001 he became Chairman of the Board and then in 2003 he became the Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Whitten spent 19 years at Microsoft during which time he developed Microsoft’s common cross-language compiler and runtime technology, the enterprise-wide software and architecture strategies for the Office, Back Office and Windows product lines. Dr. Whitten’s experiences as the chief architect of Office applications and chief architect of languages at Microsoft have been instrumental to NumeriX as it continues to lead the market in cross-asset analytics.
Dr. Whitten earned an AM and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and has a BA in Mathematics from the University of Virginia.
Steven R. O’Hanlon — President and Chief Operating Officer
As President and Chief Operating Officer of NumeriX LLC, Mr. O’Hanlon leads the company’s day–to–day global operations. He is the chief architect of the Company’s sales, marketing, distribution and corporate strategy, which has resulted in unprecedented growth during the last three years.
Mr. O’Hanlon has raised more than $50M through venture capital firms, individual investors and public markets. He has actively negotiated the sale of several companies for nearly $500M. A seasoned veteran, he has more than twenty–five years experience building emerging market start–up software companies and has contributed to three successful IPO’s. Mr. O’Hanlon participated in the Network Express IPO road show in which $30M was raised. It was his product and distribution strategy that led to the sale of this company to Cabletron for $110M. Prior to Network Express, Mr. O’Hanlon was a member of Banyan Systems Inc. executive team, which drove eight years of unparalleled growth from $3M to $150M, culminating in a successful IPO.
Prior to Banyan, Mr. O’Hanlon held Sales Executive positions at Avant–Garde Computing and Nixdorf Computers.
Mark A. Shornick — Chief Financial Officer
With more than 20 years of experience in financial management of emerging high technology enterprises from turnaround through rapid growth and public exit, Mr. Shornick has worldwide responsibility for NumeriX’s finance and investor relations.
Before joining NumeriX, he created the financial department at Measurement Specialties where, as its first CFO, he restructured its capitalization, grew its credit availability eleven-fold and oversaw its stock exchange listing. Previously, he held various positions at international accounting and consulting firms where he specialized in securities, taxation and accounting for emerging and international clients.
Mr. Shornick is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Queens College of the City University of New York.
Joseph Saporito — Senior Vice President, Global Head of Business Development and Americas Operations
As Senior Vice President, Global Head of Business Development, Mr. Saporito is responsible for partnerships, alliances, OEM, VAR and distributors. In his role as Senior Vice President, Americas Operations, he has sales and operational responsibility for NumeriX Americas.
Mr. Saporito has over 25 years of experience selling enterprise software applications and building distribution channels for Siebel, Cabletron, Banyon and Harris Corporation. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Saporito has started and sold companies providing network integration services to the financial services sector.
He holds a degree from State University of New York and Bridgeport Engineering Institute in Electrical Engineering.
Nick Haining — Managing Director EMEA
Since 2000, Nicholas Haining has been the NumeriX Managing Director, EMEA. Mr. Haining runs sales and operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Haining has more than twenty years experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining NumeriX, he worked in the trading rooms of several major banks. At BNP, Midland Bank and Credit Lyonnais he was responsible for the structuring and distribution of structured fixed income and equity derivatives. At SEB he was head of fixed income derivative trading and sales in London. He began his financial career as a journalist writing for trade finance, economics and political journals.
He has a BSC (Hon) in Economics from University of Hull .
Hiroshi Kawashima — Managing Director, APAC
As the NumeriX Managing Director, APAC, Hiroshi Kawashima runs sales and operations for the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining NumeriX, Mr.Kawashima worked for Bank of America Securities Tokyo as managing director and head of sales, global derivatives products. During his 19 years of dealing room experience from many of the top investment banks including Goldman Sachs, S.G. Warburg Securities, Credit Agricole Indosuez and the First National Bank of Chicago, he has held both senior level structuring and marketing positions for interest rate, foreign exchange, equities and credit derivatives products.
Mr. Kawashima holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Seattle University.
Dawn Patrick — Senior Vice President, Field Operations
As Senior Vice President, Field Operations, Dawn Patrick oversees global customer support, customer and partner training, and field operations.
Before joining NumeriX in 2004, she worked with Incognito Software, Inc. where she streamlined operations and constructed a customer-centric, self-service environment. Previously she was at Net Exchange as vice president of customer service and operations. Ms. Patrick also was part of the senior management team responsible for the successful IPO at Register.com.
Kevin Samborn – Senior Vice President, Integration & Services
As Senior Vice President, Integration and Services, Kevin Samborn focuses on working with our partners to create modules using NumeriX core products within their systems and providing consulting services to partners and clients to assist in developing custom applications.
With over 15 years of experience in both the financial services industry and with world-class software companies, Mr. Samborn co-founded Solutions Atlantic. Previously, he designed and developed software for investment managers, including systems for trading, risk management and derivative products at several firms including Sakura Global Capital, Chase Manhattan Bank, Bank of Tokyo and Goldman Sachs. He also served as a software architect for the Common Desktop Environment and the X Windows System while working at the X Consortium and the Open Group.
Mr. Samborn has a BA in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Albany.
Ted Pendleton — Vice President, Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Pendleton is responsible for managing new partner relationships, establishing new distribution channels and broadening strategic business and technology partner initiatives worldwide.
Mr. Pendleton has more than 15 years experience building technology company sales and business relationships. At Cable & Wireless, he served as Director of Market Development, where he was responsible for $16M in revenue for such clients as Morgan Stanley, Societe Generale, Bear Stearns, ING Group, Dow Jones, ICAP, and Prebon Yamane. In addition, he helped define the go–to–market strategy for their Real Time Nostro CLS solution and ultimately was chartered with managing the process and resulting relationships for this product.
Prior to Cable and Wireless, Mr. Pendleton was Senior Vice President of Sales & Business Development at Net Exchange. Mr. Pendleton led the sales initiative for direct customers like Jefferies & Company. In addition, he established distribution channels through major partnerships. Prior to Net Exchange, Mr. Pendleton was co-founder and Vice President of Corporate Development for Elgin Telecommunication Power Systems. He grew sales to $7M and successfully negotiated the sale of the company. Mr. Pendleton began his career as a paralegal, working for Cravath, Swain & Moore and Recoll Management.
He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Brown University.
Marylene Hamilton — Vice President, Human Resources
As Vice President, Human Resources, Mrs. Hamilton is responsible for building a culture at NumeriX that creates a sustainable and agile supply of leadership and talent.
Mrs. Hamilton brings more than seven years of experience in the computer software industry to NumeriX. She has served in various accounting and human resource positions at firms such as PeopleSoft UK, Berkshire Printing, British Telecommunications, and R.P. Huggins & Co Solicitors.
Mrs. Hamilton has a BEC National Certificate in Business Studies, and is a member in good standing of the Association of Accounting Technicians and Association of Chartered Accountants.
