Mark A. Shornick

Executive Vice President

As Executive Vice President, Mark Shornick has worldwide responsibility for Numerix’s finance, accounting, legal and investor relations functions.  He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial management of emerging high-technology enterprises, from turnaround through rapid growth and public exit.
Since joining Numerix in 1998, Mr. Shornick spearheaded the financial aspects of Numerix’s expansion from a single-entity, single-office start-up to a 16-entity, 23-office multinational corporation.  He has overseen the funding of the Company’s operations, and built the robust global infrastructure that enabled its revenue growth of more than 3,300%.  Mr. Shornick established effective accounting, control and reporting systems; treasury systems, credit and collections; and an international tax structure that maintains Numerix’s favorable global effective tax rate.  He also created Numerix’s legal function, focused on rapid closure of mutually beneficial customer license agreements.  Additionally, Mr. Shornick is responsible for engineering the recent rationalization of the Company’s capital structure.
Prior to joining Numerix, Mr. Shornick established the financial department at Measurement Specialties where, as its first Chief Financial Officer, he restructured the capitalization, grew credit availability eleven-fold, and oversaw the Company’s stock exchange listing.  Previously, he held various positions at international accounting and consulting firms where he specialized in securities, taxation and accounting for emerging and international clients.
Mr. Shornick is a Certified Public Accountant, member of Financial Executives International and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Queens College of the City University of New York.
