Numerix CrossAsset Named Best Pricing or Valuation Solution for Second Consecutive Year

New York, NY – June 8, 2015

Steven R. O’Hanlon, Chief Executive Officer & President of Numerix accepted the award for FinTech Person of the Year at the FTF News awards ceremony and dinner at the Rainbow Room on June 2 in New York City. The Numerix CrossAsset analytic platform was also named Best Pricing or Valuation Solution for the second year in a row.

“Since 2004 I’ve had the honor of leading this amazing company; helping to reengineer it from a small software start-up to the dynamic pricing and risk analytic powerhouse it is today. As a first mover in the space, we saw an opportunity to profoundly change the pricing landscape where a full multi-asset class system was needed by the industry to rapidly structure and price any derivative across all asset classes,” said Steven O’Hanlon, Chief Executive Officer & President of Numerix.

By 2008 the Numerix CrossAsset Analytics platform was seen as the gold standard in structured products and derivatives pricing. In the post-financial crisis era, Numerix never stopped investing into the future growth of the company, and once again saw an opportunity to advance forward and dominate new markets.

“At this time we seized the opportunity to pivot the company to risk, where we built out our risk management solutions from an analytics and infrastructure perspective. This propelled us forward into a new and exciting frontier where our flagship CrossAsset analytics platform could be consumed and leveraged as a flexible and transparent framework for both pricing and risk,” O’Hanlon added.

Today, the ability to calculate real-time XVA adjustments allows users to optimize counterparty choices, maximize profitability, and reduce counterparty risk while enabling greater pre-trade decision support. Given Numerix’s front office history and scalable offerings, the company is uniquely positioned in today’s marketplace to deliver a merged view, or one view where the Chief Risk Officer is able to leverage the greatest levels of combined risk insight in the front and middle office to determine where risk will be on a moment-to-moment basis in the future.

“This award is the culmination of a dedicated vision I’ve had for this company since my joining, and to me represents my accomplishments not only over the past year but over the past 35 years. I share it with all of my Numerix colleagues who’ve helped guide and support all of my decisions. Together I know we’ll continue to accomplish great things.”

“We had more than 250 nominations overall and nearly 10,000 votes, making this year’s awards season the most competitive FTF has ever seen,” said Maureen Lowe, Founder and President of FTF.  “The winners should all be congratulated for their hard work and achievements in 2014 as there are so many great companies with excellent products facing tough competition in the Ops space. So, to be recognized as being the best by the industry itself is something to be truly proud of.”
