Numerix Awards $20,000 Women in Finance Scholarship to 2026 Recipient Ella Ceroni
$20,000 award supports the University of Toronto graduate as she begins graduate studies in computational finance at Carnegie Mellon
Numerix today named Ella Ceroni the recipient of the 2026 Numerix Women in Finance Scholarship. Now in its twelfth year, the $20,000 scholarship supports exceptional women pursuing graduate studies in financial engineering, quantitative finance, and risk management, with half the award paid to the recipient's institution and half paid directly to the student.
Ceroni, who recently completed her undergraduate degree in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto, will begin a Master of Science in Computational Finance at Carnegie Mellon University this fall. She was selected for her academic record and demonstrated commitment to quantitative research, including undergraduate work applying machine learning to capital markets problems and industry experience in equity derivatives and convertible bonds.
“Supporting women in these technical fields sends a powerful message that we belong in these spaces,” Ceroni said. “It gives women confidence to pursue careers that may come with challenges, knowing there are organizations investing in their success.”
Launched in 2014, the Women in Finance Scholarship is open to women of any nationality enrolled full-time in a Master's or PhD finance program, with fewer than 10 years of total work experience and fewer than five years in the financial field, pursuing careers in asset management, market risk management, structured finance, fixed income, or derivatives.
