In October 2018, SRP surveyed EMEA structured products distributors, receiving 683 responses. The survey results underpinned the awards program, which were handed out on February 6, 2019 during the 16th Annual Europe Structured Products & Derivatives Conference in London.
In its awards report, SRP highlighted several key findings. Automation was mentioned as a potential hurdle for the industry throughout 2019. Editors wrote that despite some indisputable operational benefits, notably in terms of cost reduction and transparency, automation in financial services advice has inherent weaknesses. The report also notes many requests directed at issuance platforms with a significant proportion of respondents asking for technological advances. Top of the list was better ‘connectivity with our internal systems’.
