Recipient of $20,000 Women in Finance Scholarship Announced

Numerix a leader in capital markets risk management technology, is thrilled to introduce Jhanvi Shah as the recipient of this year's $20,000 Women in Finance Scholarship. The annual scholarship is awarded to one woman pursuing her advanced degree in finance.
Shah will use her scholarship towards a master's in Financial Asset Management from the Schulich School of Business, York University. Shah was chosen from over 100 applicants. This will be Shah's second master's degree; she also obtained a CFA level II certification.
"My interest in the capital markets and risk management arises from the dynamic nature of global financial systems, the need for informed decision-making, and the desire to contribute to financial stability. I am eager to deepen my knowledge, refine my skills, and make a positive impact in these critical areas of the industry," explained Shah.
Shah is a champion for supporting women pursuing finance careers, especially in India, where she is from. While discussing her future, she told the Numerix team, "I envision myself as a dynamic financial entrepreneur in India, leading my own firm where I successfully drive growth while at the same time advocating for diversity and inclusion in the industry."

The Women in Finance Scholarship was open to all women pursuing careers in financial asset management, market risk management, or derivatives finance within the capital markets. Shah now receives $10,000 directly to use at her discretion and an additional $10,000, which is provided to her educational institution.
This Scholarship program was started by and run by FINCAD in 2014 and continued under Numerix following FINCAD's acquisition in April 2023. Past winners have described the scholarship as crucial to their educational journey.
