Satyam Kancharla, Chief Strategy Officer & EVP, Client Solutions Group, and Ping Sun, SVP of Financial Engineering, participate in an interview with Greg Murray, VP of Product & Field Marketing, where they share some of the key themes and use cases driving our software development in the past year and provide insight on the future areas of focus for the year ahead.

Satyam Kancharla, Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, Client Solutions Group

Mr. Kancharla, as Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, is responsible for corporate strategy and currently heads the Client Solutions Group at Numerix. This group is responsible for Product Management, Financial Engineering and Business Analysis. Prior to this, he has served in various roles in Quantitative Software Development, Financial Engineering and Client Services at Numerix. Before transferring to Numerix in New York City, he was the CTO for Numerix Japan LLC in Tokyo, heading the Pre-Sales and Financial Engineering teams for Asia.

Prior to joining Numerix in 2003, Mr. Kancharla also worked with Merrill Lynch and GE Capital in Quantitative Finance and Product Development roles. He holds an MBA degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business, an MSc degree in Applied Statistics and Informatics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a BScin Mathematics and Computers from the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Ping Sun, Senior Vice President, Financial Engineering, Numerix

Dr. Sun, PhD is Senior Vice President, Financial Engineering at Numerix. He is also product manager of the Numerix CrossAsset analytics platform. During his career at Numerix, Dr. Sun’s work has appeared in number of publications and academic journals, and he has been showcased as a lecturer at a range of academic events and industry conferences.

Dr. Sun served as a consultant to Lehman Brothers as a FX / EQ Desk Quant, and his is extensive experience includes working to develop the Numerix cross-currency Economic Scenario Generator. He earned a Doctorate Degree in Physics from City College of New York, and a Master’s Degree and Undergraduate Degree in Physics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. 

Greg Murray, Vice President, Product & Field Marketing

Greg Murray oversees product and field marketing initiatives at Numerix, focusing on go-to-market strategies and marketing of Numerix’s derivative pricing and risk analytics. Prior to his current role, Mr. Murray worked in derivative analytics sales roles at Numerix and at other software firms. He also held derivative trading positions for seven years as an option market-maker and proprietary trader across a variety of asset classes.
